Azadeh Haghi
Your neurological practice in Korntal
About me
Welcome to my Homepage
My name is Azadeh Haghi, and I am delighted to welcome you to my page. As a specialist in neurology, I bring years of extensive and diverse medical experience that enables me to cater to the individual needs of my patients and provide them with the best possible care.

I grew up in the culturally rich and renowned city of Isfahan.

I completed my specialized high school diploma in mathematics, as this subject greatly fascinated me during school. However, I was internally torn because I have always been a social person who finds joy in working with and for people. Living and working in a world with less human connection did not align with my personality. My father reminded me back then that I was not a "math person" and that I could contribute more by helping people medically.

Within three months, I studied three biology books intensively to meet the qualifications required for admission to medical school. This led me to shift my focus to biology and eventually begin my medical studies at Jondi Shapur University in Ahvaz.
During my third semester, I worked on a student project about multiple sclerosis (MS) and vitamin D deficiency. I received support from a senior physician at the university hospital, and to learn from her, I regularly attended ward rounds as an observer. This experience inspired me to become a neurologist.

After earning my medical degree, I decided to pursue my neurological specialization abroad. Neurology, being a relatively young field, offers many development opportunities that were not yet available in my home country at the time. This inspired me to migrate to another country. Along with my then 8-year-old son, I moved to Erlangen, Germany. There, I worked as a guest physician at the University Hospital Erlangen for about 18 months. Following my German medical license in 2013, I worked at leading clinics and eventually obtained my specialist title in neurology.

The Sacred Disease
Hippocrates (c. 460–370 BCE), regarded as the father of medicine, laid an essential foundation for neurology with his observations on the brain and epilepsy. He was the first to describe epilepsy, previously considered a supernatural phenomenon, as a condition of the brain. These insights established an early basis for understanding neurological disorders. However, the development of neurology was a lengthy process that spanned centuries.
The History of Medicine
Avicenna – The Physician and Visionary of Science
Avicenna (Ibn Sina, 980–1037) was a Persian polymath who revolutionized medicine, philosophy, and science. His magnum opus, The Canon of Medicine, shaped medical education in Europe and the Islamic world for centuries.
As a physician, he accurately described the causes of diseases and their treatments, while as a philosopher, he delved into profound questions about life and knowledge. Despite exile and political turmoil, his ideas inspired generations and remain a timeless symbol of the power of knowledge and determination.
A man whose legacy continues to teach us how knowledge can change the world.
